The Challenge

Boh Bros. was awarded the project by LA DOTD to serve as the prime contractor for the Emergency Repair of the I-10 Twin Spans (approximately 5.5 miles) over Lake Pontchartrain damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Damage included 58 spans missing or partially submerged, 437 spans out of alignment, and numerous damaged pilings and concrete spalls. This project demonstrated our ability to manage and construct an extremely large, fast-paced critical project. Boh Bros. completed the critical east bound bridge repairs in only 29 days.

Major features: 90% self-performed, recipient of AGC Build America Award, delivered on-time and on-budget, and earned an early completion bonus allowed for Phase I by opening the eastbound span in 29 days.
